Mumbai experienced heavy rainfall on July 15, 2025, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue an orange alert for Mumbai, Thane, and nearby regions . The intense downpour, along with warnings of high tide and waterlogging, disrupted road traffic and added strain to travel logistics.

As a result, top domestic carriers—IndiGo, SpiceJet, and Akasa Air—have issued travel advisories, urging passengers to anticipate flight delays and leave early for the airport. They emphasized checking flight status regularly via airline apps or websites, and to allow extra travel time given the slower road conditions and potential congestion.

IndiGo: Advised passengers about possible “temporary disruption to flight schedules” and recommended extra buffer time.

SpiceJet: Noted that “all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may be affected” and urged travelers to stay updated.

Akasa Air: Warned of slow-moving traffic due to waterlogging in Mumbai and surrounding cities like Pune, Kolkata, and Goa, advising passengers to plan accordingly.

Travelers flying in or out of Mumbai today should proactively check airline communication channels, factor in road congestion, and be prepared for delays. As monsoon conditions persist, further advisories and updates are expected.
